Apart from urethane other elastomers, natural rubbers and foams are applied where abrasion, insulation or corrosion requirements exist. Polymer engineering operates the largest automatic hot casting plant for pipe in Western Australia and is one of the largest in Australia. Pipe sizes up to 1,500mm diameter and 12,000mm long can be lined. For long pipeline carrying slurry or chemicals high throughput lining is possible. The purpose built pulley lagging facility can hot cast apply lagging of any thickness to pulleys up to 2,000mm diameter and 4,000mm face and weighing in excess of 5 tonnes. Large drive and idler pulleys have been lagged for most large conveyors used in mining in Australia. Export orders to South America, Thailand and China have been supplied. Speciality items requiring purpose built moulds are hot cast from a range of urethane compositions and hardness's. The in house engineering division has the skills and equipment to manufacture virtually any type of moulds. A variety of sprayable urethanes are applied both in the factory and on site for new construction and maintenance projects. Corrosion, abrasion and chemical attacks to metal and concrete is reduced by the correct selection of sprayable urethanes. Application is by single and plural component equipment. Polymer Engineering with over 20 years of product and equipment development has an ongoing research and development program which utilises new products and develops new equipment for new uses.

Warranties. Polymer Engineering warrants the performance of the urethane system covering both the product and applicator, avoiding disputes which may arise between the urethane manufacturers and the applicators. If you have a specific environmental condition causing excessive corrosion or abrasion, we can offer a solution to extend the life of the substrate.
